HARDY FUCHSIAS – Hardy fuchsias are live outdoor growing shrubs that can survive outside in the UK including during the Winter. They don’t require protection like their tender cousins. These compact Summer flowering plants have an upright growing habit and can easily be grown in containers and hanging baskets with some varieties ideal for growing as hedges. RICCARTONII – This deciduous single flowering variety produces scarlet and dark purple blooms that hang from arching stems from June to September. This upright growing plant can reach up to 300cm in height with a spread of 200cm, making it ideal for growing as a hedge but ideal for patio pots and containers. GROWING CONDITIONS – Hardy fuchsias are popular in UK gardens due to being pollinator friendly, they will help attract honeybees and some bumblebees. They are happiest growing in full sunlight to dappled shade in moist well draining soil. They can cope with chalk, clay, loam and sandy soil conditions.
