Product information
Lycopus europaeus, commonly known as gypsywort, is a vigorous, clump-forming perennial with upright, square stems and coarsely toothed green leaves forming dense foliage. In mid to late summer it produces small, inconspicuous purple to reddish-purple flowers arranged in whorls along the upper stems, adding subtle colour to wetland margins and damp soils. This species is valuable for pollinators and wetland biodiversity, providing shelter for insects and small wildlife. Its upright, spreading habit and tolerance of consistently moist or waterlogged soil make it ideal for pond margins, wetlands, and naturalistic water gardens.
