The Novia 500 VCL is a high-quality, affordable vapour control layer designed for timber frame construction walls and other applications where managing the passage of water vapour is essential. Manufactured from virgin blown polythene, this clear, green-tinted membrane ensures effective vapour resistance while also acting as a barrier against air leakage.
This product is fully compliant with Construction Products Regulation (CPR) standards and is CE Approved to EN 13984:2013. It is an ideal solution for preventing unwanted moisture movement within the building envelope, reducing the risk of condensation and energy loss due to convection flows.

To ensure full barrier integrity, Novia recommends using compatible sealing tapes. Novia double-sided butyl tape should be applied with an overlap of 75mm to 100mm, followed by a secure lap-seal using Novia foil tape.
The width of the tape will determine the strength of the seal, so selecting the appropriate size based on application needs is crucial. For improved airtightness, applying butyl tape to timber studs at fixing points before stapling the membrane enhances the overall seal.
