Installation Guidance
To ensure airtightness and optimal performance, it is recommended to use Novia installation tapes. For basic installations, Novia Breather Membrane Lap Tape is suitable, while Novia Double-Sided Adhesive Tape is ideal for high-specification projects. Using both tapes results in a long-lasting, breathable, and airtight seal, even where tape use is not mandatory under BS 5534 wind uplift test results.
For wall or warm roof applications, installing a Novia vapour barrier such as Novia VC2 or VC200 Reflective on the warm side of the insulation is essential to prevent interstitial condensation. Even minor moisture contamination within the insulation can reduce thermal performance by over 30%.
